Author’s Note: One of my photos was recently accepted & exhibited in a show featuring artists from all over the state of Florida. Because art that pushes the envelope is generally overlooked & condemned to obscurity in the conservative south, this show aimed to offer an opportunity for more subversive work to be displayed—hopefully even appreciated—locally.
I’ve been reticent to make a subscriber only post because I dislike how exclusive it feels—not to mention how that exclusivity feels weaved into the mission statement of this platform’s core function & design… But my hand is finally being forced by the constant judgement & blatant censorship of women’s bodies in basically all of the other digital domains—as well as the fact that I work with younger students now. So after a lengthy amount of compassionate debate with myself, my partner, & several other trusted cohorts—I’ve decided to start putting my most revealing artwork out there with as much security publishing behind a paywall can offer (which isn’t a lot).
